Why Choose Counselling?

Curious, but unsure of what to expect?
Let me help explain why Counselling might be the right choice for you.....

"In the middle of difficulty, lies opportunity"

(Albert Einstein)

"Often what feels like the end of the world is really a challenging pathway to a far better place"

(Karen Salmansohn )

THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT PERSONALISED TO YOU

Now more than ever, we appreciate that life is full of ongoing difficulties and challenges.  There are times when we could all welcome some extra support but may feel unable to talk to those closest to us.   Even if we recognise that sharing our worries is helpful, we might feel inclined not to burden friends and family, keeping thoughts and feelings to ourselves and hoping things will sort themselves out given time.  Sometimes this rings true.  But what of the times when we can't naturally move on from an anxious, sad, or unmotivated state of thinking and feeling?

If you feel alone, stuck or confused about the way you feel or are having troublesome thoughts, this is a good time to access Counselling.  I encourage everyone to seek external support if not feeling ok, and it's encouraging to see growing numbers of people talking seriously about the importance of looking after their mental health as much as their physical health.

Often people feel confused, dissatisfied or guilty for not feeling happier with their lives, unsure of why they feel the way they do.  Others will recognise that a significant event or trauma, perhaps bereavement, ill-health, work stress or general anxiety, has left them feeling overwhelmed and unable to cope.  No one person's situation can be compared to another, we are all unique and deserve to receive attention when something is not ok.  Counselling is a proven talking therapy and a helping service that can offer the very support that you are looking for.   No problem is too small to bring to therapy - if there is an unhappiness or discomfort in your life, there is a reason why.  Counselling gives the opportunity to explore this reason and to alleviating stress and pain.

Meeting either in person therapy or on-line via Zoom,  I hold a confidential and safe space for you to talk openly about your difficulties.   I respect your individuality and who you are as a person.  Each session will be tailored to help address your issues, and the impact they may be having whether long standing or recent.  Your therapy will adapt as you develop and your needs change.

Together, we will work gently at a pace that suits your needs and my intention is for your best wellbeing and to aid you to untangle your thoughts and make sense of your difficulties, facilitating you to come to terms with your past or recent troubles.  Always working together, so that your future may become a little clearer and helping to restore a sense of calm and well being in your life.  I am All Ears to you.
